Product Designer

As a Product Designer, you’ll shape intuitive, impactful experiences for SACCOs and their rural customers—think USSD interfaces for farmers, mobile apps for traders, and dashboards for financial officers. Your creativity will drive financial inclusion, blending user-centric design with our core values of passion, creativity, and resilience.

What You’ll Do

• Design end-to-end user experiences for our core banking platform, USSD, mobile app, and web frontend, ensuring accessibility in low-connectivity areas.

• Conduct user research with rural SACCO members and staff to uncover needs, iterating designs based on real-world feedback.

• Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups using tools like Figma, prioritizing simplicity and inclusivity.

• Collaborate with engineers and product managers to align designs with technical constraints and Bank of Uganda compliance.

• Innovate on agent banking interfaces, making cash-in/cash-out seamless for remote communities.

• Contribute to a design system that scales across East Africa as we expand to Kenya and Tanzania.

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years of product design experience, ideally in fintech or mobile-first platforms.

• Proficiency in Figma, Adobe XD, or similar tools; experience with prototyping for USSD is a plus.

• Strong user research skills, with empathy for diverse, low-tech users (e.g., rural farmers, women-led groups).

• Creative problem-solving to balance aesthetics with functionality in resource-constrained settings.

• Passion for financial inclusion and resilience to iterate through fast-paced, impact-driven projects.

• Bonus: Experience designing for African markets or multilingual interfaces.
