Success Stories

At Ensibuuko, we don’t just provide software — we partner with SACCOs to change lives in rural Uganda. Here are the stories of institutions and members who turned digital tools into lasting impact.

Real Communities, Real Transformations.

Omony Geoffrey Davie

Lamoki, Nwoya District

My name is Omony Geoffrey Davie. I am the chairperson of Wan Acel VSLA group in Lamoki village, Ywaya Parish, Amala Sub-county, Nwoya District, Northern Uganda.

For many years, we used to spend almost two hours recording our savings every week. We did everything by hand, and it was slow and tiring. Sometimes, we made mistakes in the records, which caused disagreements among members. Since we started working with Ensibuuko Tech Limited and using the Chomoka app, things have really improved.

The app has made our work much faster and easier. Now, we finish our savings meetings in about 40 minutes to one hour. It has saved us time and given us better and secure records. Recently, we applied for a loan of four million shillings through Ensibuuko, and we were able to get it. This loan is now being disbursed to different members of the group.

Most of them are using it for agriculture to plant during this planting season. I am very sure this is going to change our lives. Members will be able to make some money, take their children to school, and cover other important costs that their families have. I am very grateful for this opportunity. Working with Ensibuuko has given us hope and confidence for a better future. Thank You, Dreams Project.

Angom Gloria

Akadwa, Lira District

From Akadwat, Angotocom Parish, Agweng Subcounty, Lira District, had been saving for 5 years in Bedimar VSLA, but there was no growth in the group, all they did was wait for share-out time. After the group was digitized by Ensibuuko to the Chomoka Platform, she received a loan of 900,000 UGX and started a small business selling produce on a small scale.

This has helped her pay school fees, medical bills, and meet other household needs which she couldn’t do initially due to lack of money and only depending on agriculture. All this growth is thanks to the loan she accessed after her group received support from Ensibuuko.

Giramia Zita

Ayeny Town Council in Lira District

After her Divorce, Zita decided to join a VSLA called Decide End Violence last year. She managed to save up to 900,000 UGX in the group as her personal savings. After the group was digitized through Ensibuuko, they received a loan of 3 million UGX. Zita borrowed 600,000 UGX from it, which she used to start a sim sim and groundnut business.

After paying back the 600,000 UGX, she took an additional loan of 1 million UGX, which she used to upgrade the business and market her produce. Over time, her business grew, and her ex-husband returned after seeing how much she had grown and the value added to her life.

They are now living together, and Zita is able to take care of him and their children. All these transformations happened in just one year. All Thanks to the DRAMS project that came with CHOMOKA and access to affordable credit.

Ribbe Aye Kwo

Acer Town Council

Ribbe Aye Kwo, Code 278 in Acer Town Council, is very happy about the dream project. Before, they didn’t have knowledge of financial literacy.  But after receiving the training, their lives were transformed. They started saving well, and having their groups digitalized has completely saved them from

losing their records, money, and cases of money getting lost.

They now prefer digital record-keeping rather than writing records in books. What impressed the group most was the services they would receive after

being digitized. The group also shared their success in receiving a loan, which has greatly

improved their businesses, farming, and overall well-being as a group. It has removed the fear of borrowing, encouraged members, improved savings, and provided low-interest loans without the need for security.

“We have been hoping to get a loan from any partner for a long time but always failed. ENSIBUUKO coming on board with digitalization has helped us get the loan. We are very happy because now we are all digital.”

They thanked Ensiuuko and Care and requested continuous support, either through a new project or an expansion of the current one.
